7 Things I'm Loving This Fall

This past summer I shared 7 Things I’m Loving This Summer and it ended up being one of my most popular blog posts (and one of the most fun to write), so here I am again…sharing a few of the things I am loving this season.

There is something about this season that just makes me feel the most myself. Don’t get me wrong, summer is great but by the end of it I find myself feeling a little exhausted. I always feel the pressure to fit in all the things. To get outside and take advantage of the summer weather when its here. To take the road trips, get to all the concerts, have the beach days, and the nights out with friends. Again, don’t get me wrong I love all of those things but this introvert who also loves being at home is always ready to slow the pace down a bit and spend a few more cozy nights at home.

So in the spirit of all things fall and making the most of these days, I’m sharing a few things that I am loving this season.

So here we go…7 things I’m personally loving this fall (in no particular order)

As always, a quick note: items in this blog post may contain affiliate links. This does not cost you anything additional to order through these links but may provide me with a small commission which allows me to keep sharing these type of posts.

#1 all the cozy things (obviously)

I mean this one feels obvious and I absolutely could (and might!) write an entire blog post just about all of the cozy things I love this season but I am talking specifically about the cozy clothes of the season. I shared a few of my favorite items (read: lots of cozy layers) here. And I basically can’t stop talking about these slippers. I have been wearing these constantly lately (and hiding them from Opie so he doesn’t destroy them like he does with all my other slippers).

#2 my new living room rug

I swear there are very few things that will change the entire feel of your room more than a new rug will. Paint? Maybe. But a rug has to be second on the list, if not first.

I am loving the darker but still neutral tones of this rug that I just got for my living room. It is creating the perfect cozy (and slightly moody) vibe - perfect for this season.

I will say this rug doesn’t have the plushness that the Moroccan shag rug I had in here previously did, but it feels so much more practical for life with a 70-pound labradoodle. I added a rug pad underneath and this not only makes the rug feel much softer but it also keeps the rug in place when Opie gets his daily case of the zoomies. This is the exact rug pad that I got.

#3 these jeans

Okay, so I totally shared a pair of jeans on my summer list that I absolutely love but I am kind of obsessed with these too. I’m still trying to get on board with the whole cropped jeans and boots thing happening right now, but these jeans are making it so much easier to do just that.

#4 all the fall scents

It’s a toss up whether I love the scents of fall or the holiday season more but for purposes of this post, let’s go with fall! And while I love all the scents it is really important to me to keep my home as natural and as free of fragrance as possible. With that in mind, my go-to candles this season (okay, kind of all of the seasons) are Naturalight Candles. Spiced Honey is the scent I have been burning these days. These campfire incense sticks are also consistently burning around here. I’m basically here for anything that makes my house feel a little more woodsy and cozy.

#5 equilibria CBD

FUN FACT: I have struggled with anxiety nearly all of my life. While things have been pretty under control lately through therapy, my yoga practice, and other ways I have learned to manage over the years, this past summer I noticed my anxiety creeping up a bit more and decided to give CBD a shot as a way to calm my (incredibly busy) mind down just a bit. And now that I’m a few months in, I’m happy to say it has been a huge help in me feeling like a slightly more chill version of myself. I have tried a few CBD brands over the years and never found one that quite worked for me until I came across Equilibria. Equilibria is a company created for women, by women, offering premium CBD products (in beautiful packaging - okay, I’m kind of a sucker for beautiful packaging). They also offer free 1-on-1 calls with a dosage specialist to help you find a routine personalized for your needs. #6 all of the fall food

Okay so now that I really think about this, the food should probably be number one on the list. But I mean seriously…apple crisp, squash, soup, curries, and pumpkin everything. Every meal basically feels like a big ol’ hug these days.

I also know I’m not the only seeing (and feeling) the current price increases at the grocery store. One way I am helping to keep my budget in check (as much as possible) is by ordering most of my pantry items and snacks from Thrive Market. A few reasons why I love Thrive Market so much.

1) They have nearly all of the organic, gluten free, and dairy free items I am looking for at about 25% off of what I typically pay at the grocery store. Plus, it gets shipped straight to my door!

2) You receive a free gift with every order I place - one of my recent FREE gifts was collagen powder with a $40 value!

3) For every membership sold, Thrive gives a membership to a family in need. Plus, you have the opportunity to give back a portion of your savings on each order to a family in need, as well. As a note, I always tell people you generally “make your membership cost back” in just a couple of orders. Its even easier to do if you use this link to save 40% off your first order (plus get a free gift)!

#7 the Minnesota Northwoods (in the fall)

I mean you didn’t really think I would make it through the full list without mentioning the northwoods, did you? And while our fall season up here in Northern Minnesota is known to be short, it sure is beautiful. Also, the fact that these trails are tucked away right in the middle of the city will never get old to me.
