The Official 2024 The Altered Abode Gift Guide

So you might know by now, but my dream of owning a brick + mortar shop is one that has been in me for years and years. And while these first six months have been so fun, this next month or so is what I’ve really been dreaming of. Having folks come in the shop from the cold, twinkling lights glowing, Christmas music playing, and helping them find the perfect holiday gift, is what I’ve really dreamt of.

And while, I would love, love to have you in the shop soon, if you just can’t make it in I still want to share that experience of helping you find the perfect gift for everyone on your list.

All of these items come directly from my shop. These are hand picked items that are sourced throughout the country and world through makers and other small business owners (primarily women owned). You will even see that a few of these items include generous givebacks to communities (and dogs) in need.

So basically, shopping this list makes a difference. A real difference. Not only in this small business (and big dream) of mine but in the small businesses and big dreams of so many others.

This 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think book is another of the best selling items in the shop. It is packed full of inspiring and beautiful words from Brianna Wiest. I always tell people that I think it is such a great book because it is one that you can pick up, read a page or two and still get something out of it.

For the one who loves to be cozy

This Wool Camp Blaze blanket is one of my favorite items in the shop. Not only is the blanket beautiful but it is made from recycled wool and other recycled materials. And even better, every time a blanket is purchased in my shop another blanket is donated to our local homeless shelter. Don’t we just love a good giveback?

Well I might be partial, but The Northwoods Collection might be my favorite gift idea on this list. Afterall, I carefully curated this gift box long before the doors to the shop were even open.
