Green is the New Neutral - 5 ways to bring more green into your home today

If you’ve been here a while its probably comes as no surprise that I love green. Like love, love green. I have been saying for a while that green is a neutral and can be used in nearly any home design. Maybe its just a green throw pillow or two, a neutral green paint color, or maybe just maybe you go all out with a green sofa. However you choose, I 100% support you adding a bit more green into your home today!

And since I think we could all use a little more green in our lives; I’m sharing 5 ways to add more green to your home today.

As always, a quick note: items in this blog post may contain affiliate links. This does not cost you anything additional to order through these links but may provide me with a small commission which allows me to keep sharing these type of posts.

#1 Bring out the green paint

I know, I know this one may seem like a big commitment but I actually think paint is the lowest cost way to create a big impact in your space. Plus its low risk. Start with one wall or even just one area of the wall; sit with it for a while and see how it feels. If you don’t like it just paint right back over it. See, easy right?

#2 Add some green printable art

Printable art is one of my favorite ways to easily update a space. All you need is a frame and a few dollars to add new art to your home today. Want more printable art ideas? I’ve rounded up my favorite prints for fall here.

#3 Add some plants

Okay, I might have said the last two ideas were easy but this one has to be the easiest. Pick up a plant or two to add some pops of green that will work with literally any home design style. For the biggest impact, I like to group a few together in one area (just like I did on my open shelves right here). I’m also quite convinced plants are happier when they are next to other plants plus it makes watering them that much easier.

#4 Go big with a green sofa

So this one definitely isn’t as easy or low cost as the rest of the items on the list but man does it make a big impact! The green sofa in my home is one of my absolute favorite things. I’ve had it for several years now and I haven’t even gotten even a little tired of it. It really does feel like a neutral piece of furniture in the boldest most beautiful way.

#5 Add some green bedding and throw pillows

I mean who doesn’t love new bedding and pillows, especially with fall right around the corner. Trading your duvet cover or comforter for something green is another easy way to bring more green into your home. Want to make a smaller change? Just add a green throw pillow or two to your sofa or bed, again easy as can be!
