Nature Inspired Boho Living Room Project
One of my favorite projects I have ever completed was for a client who had just purchased her first home and was ready to make it her own. Ericka knew she wanted her space to be comfortable and cozy but wasn’t sure where to start.
After getting to know Ericka a bit, I learned that she loved the outdoors, traveling, and had a bit of a free-boho spirit. Since I believe the most important part of a room design is to make sure that it reflects the clients’ personality and feels like “home”; I knew right away that I wanted to include pops of green, lots of texture, meaningful artwork, and plenty of fun patterns.

Ericka loved the design concept so we were ready to get started. This is the space we were working with. You can see her home had great bones; those original hardwood floors, lots of light, and an arched entry to the dining room. However, it needed some help to feel cozy, comfortable, and to be a reflection of what she wanted for her home.
Living Room - Before
Ericka wasn’t afraid to go bold and have some fun in her space. One of the ways we went bold was with bringing in a custom velvety, green sofa and by creating a patterned wall. Wallpaper is, of course, one way to bring pattern into the space however, I love when clients are willing to break out their DIY skills just a bit and stencil the wall instead. This creates a similar look at a fraction of the price and with less of a commitment. I always recommend Cutting Edge Stencils to purchase a high quality stencil for this type of project. We used the Brush Strokes Wall Stencil for this project.
