The Green Sofa I Can’t Get Enough Of
As soon as I decided to open up a brick and mortar interior design studio and home + gift shop, I just knew I needed to include a green sofa in the space. Green sofas just feel so engrained in my brand and reflective of my style. Afterall, the green sofa in my own house has been featured not once, but twice in magazines including Lake Superior Magazine. There is just something about seeing your home in print that will never get old for me.
When I was opening the shop I was trying to find the best option for a green sofa in the store space. Honestly, my big requirements were that it was durable, felt modern yet cozy, and was at a reasonable price point (because, well turns costs add up quick when opening a brick + mortar shop).
So, when I had the chance to partner with Chita Living to feature their sofa in the space, I was thrilled.
If you’ve been in the shop, you know this isn’t exactly how things look but the sofa is the first thing you see when you open the door and honestly the amount of “I love this couch” comments and “where’d you get this couch” questions I get is both surprising and at the same time not at all surprising.
I couldn’t love the velvety green fabric paired with the clean lines and black metal legs more. The best part is, it is actually comfortable too. Both the sofa and the chair sit a little deep making it the perfect place to cozy up for a while.
How to style a green sofa
While I have plans to create an entire blog post on this topic, I’ll try to answer it quickly here. I have seen green sofas styled beautifully in many different ways but I have to say my personal favorite way is with texture and warm earth tones. You’ll see here I have included:
Texture and warmth with a wood slice table and these wood bookshelves
Pops of gold and terracotta tones with throw pillows and this rug
Plants (again for texture) and bringing life to the space
Vintage art (I will forever love a vintage landscape)
Baskets (once again, texture)
