A few of the easiest ways to update your home for fall

I don’t know about you, but the cooler temperatures and darker evenings have me craving all things cozy. And while I love decorating for fall, I usually don’t go too crazy when it comes to fall decor. I like to keep things simple and neutral so that the fall items just blend right in with everything else in my home.

So I’m sharing a few easy ways you can update your home for fall today

Cozy up with extra layers

The cooler temperatures likely have you reaching for those extra layers anyway so now is the time to bring those blankets out in sight. Toss a throw blanket over your bed, in a basket, or over a chair. The extra layers are not only needed but they bring all the fall vibes. Especially, in a warm color like rust. The Sadie Tassel Knitted Blanket by Homeplistic is one of my favorites. You can save 15% on one of your own by using discount code ALTEREDABODE15.

Bring the outside in

Add fall botanicals like pampas grass, dried florals, wheat, or bunny tails. These natural elements add so much texture and touches of fall with nearly zero effort. Throw a bundle into a vase or a crock (like I did here) and you’re set! You can pick these up at any craft store or get creative; take a walk through your yard or neighborhood and see what might already be available to you.

This set of fall botanicals is perfect if you want mix things up a bit.

Light those candles

While, I am all about candles year-round; we are officially headed into actual candle season. There is just something about the glow from a candle on those darker, cooler evenings. Or maybe it’s all of those cozy fall scents. Either way, candles are another easy way to add a touch of fall to your home. Sprinkle those babies everywhere!

Some of my absolute favorite candles are from Naturalight Candles a local maker here in Duluth.

In case you’ve been skimming, here’s the recap…
