I’ve always been someone who sticks to a goal a bit more easily when I have something tangible to track. So, for the past few years I have used Goodreads to set a reading goal for the year to come. In 2022, my goal was to read 20 books.

I’m sharing the top 5 tools and systems that I use in my business today (like wouldn’t be able to run my business without these kind of top 5).

So in the spirit of all things fall and making the most of these days, I’m sharing a few things that I am loving this season.

It seems only fitting that I share some of my favorite nature inspired decor. Because you don’t technically have to be surrounded by the woods to make your space feel like it is (though I fully encourage it).

It’s probably because my favorite DIYs are usually the easiest and the cheapest. I’m happy to share that this easy fall DIY project meets all the criteria: easy, cheap, and uses paper bags.

While I love decorating for fall, I usually don’t go too crazy when it comes to fall decor. I like to keep things simple and neutral so that the fall items just blend right in with everything else in my home.

Five years ago I took a big leap and bought a 130 year old, multi-family, fixer upper. I say it was a leap because at the time I had no real experience in renovating, no experience at all with rental properties, no one doing this alongside me sharing in the cost and the responsibility. Still this dream was so strong in my heart that I knew I had to go for it.

One of my favorite (and easiest) ways to completely transform the look and feel of a space is with a new rug. That means I like being able to swap rugs every so often. I also like to keep the cost of the rugs in my own home on the lower side. While, I’m all about investing in quality pieces and hanging on to those items for as long as possible. Rugs are just one of those things I don’t want to worry about getting stained or ruined (umm…hello spilled cups of coffee and dogs).

Is reading on your list of things you’d like to do more of this year? Well I’m with you. For the past few years I have used Goodreads to set a reading goal. In 2021 my goal was to read 22 books. I know, I know why not 21 books right? What can I say, I felt like I could fit an extra book in there. Unfortunately, I fell a little short and only got through 19. I think that the fact that a few of the books were nearly 700 pages played into that a bit.

While I am obsessed with basically all of the things around the holidays, my most recent obsession is making these DIY paper bag snowflakes. Seriously, I can’t stop hanging and setting them everywhere. What makes the obsession even stronger is how easy and inexpensive they are to make…two of my favorite qualities of a good DIY project.

Last year was the first year I put a Christmas tree in my bathroom and there is no going back for me. Seriously, if you read nothing else in this post, read this: I 100% recommend putting a Christmas tree in your bathroom (with battery powered lights, of course).

Last month, I took my first solo trip. I went to Savannah, Georgia. A place I have loved and have been drawn too for as long as I can remember.

I’m all about those easy updates for the season. Adding a few blankets, warm tones, fall florals, and candles instantly transformed this space into a cozy fall retreat.
